The Spark!Lab Network: A Place for Children and Families to Be Creative

Spark!Lab, the Lemelson Center's new national network of invention and creativity labs, is now up and running! The network currently consists of six labs across the country, with more in development.

The goal of the Spark!Lab network is to provide a space for children and families to be creative and have fun while learning about invention and the engineering design process.

Each lab is equipped with a variety of tools and materials, as well as trained staff who are there to help facilitate the creative process. Visitors to the labs can participate in a variety of activities, such as design challenges, make-and-takes, and open Build Nights.

The Spark!Lab network is currently in the process of developing a set of national standards for its labs, which will ensure that all visitors have a consistently positive and productive experience. In the meantime, we encourage you to check out one of our labs if you're in the area!
