If you're a fan of the ABC show Shark Tank, you know Matt Higgins as one of the "sharks" who invests in promising businesses. But there's more to Matt Higgins than meets the eye.
Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Matt Higgins has always been a go-getter. After graduating from college, he worked in the public relations field for a few years before making the jump to investment banking. It was there that he met real estate developer Bruce Ratner, who would later become his business partner.
In 2003, Higgins and Ratner formed the investment firm RSE Ventures. Together, they've made some savvy investments, including in the Miami Dolphins and in a company that makes genetically-modified mosquitoes (yes, you read that correctly).
But it's not all business for Higgins. He's also an avid outdoorsman and adventurer. In fact, he once climbed Mount Kilimanjaro...in a suit!
So what does the future hold for Matt Higgins? We're sure it will be anything but boring. We'll be watching to see what he does next!
He is a husband and father of three young children. He and his wife work together to raise their kids and support each other. He is a great role model for his children, and he takes pride in his family.
He has summited Mount Everest and skied to the South Pole, so it's safe to say that he enjoys a good adventure. He probably has a lot of stories to tell, and we're sure he's not done adding to his list of accomplishments.
Higgins is a New York Times bestselling author for his book All Who Wander Are Not Lost. This is an incredible achievement and we are so proud of him!
Matt Higgins is the co-founder and CEO of RSE Ventures, a sports, entertainment, and media holding company. RSE's investments include FX CEO John Landgraf, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and Hudson River Trading. In 2013, Higgins started ISIL, a think tank focused on the sharing economy. In 2010, he was the CEO of the Miami Dolphins.
Higgins is also a star investor on the Emmy Award-winning show Shark Tank. He has helped entrepreneurs secure funding for their businesses and grow their companies. He is an accomplished business man and his experience on the show is invaluable.
