Fequently Asked Questions

  1. Question: What is the motto of Imagine That! Design and Production?

The motto of Imagine That! Design and Production is "Creating Magic for Life."

  2. Answer: "If you can imagine it, we can design and produce it!"

We pride ourselves on being able to provide customized packaging solutions to our clients. If you need guidance on designing a specialty option not shown on our website, we encourage you to contact us at 1.855.637.4500.

Question: How do I know if a custom order of packaging is right for me?

Answer: Before you start a custom packaging project, we recommend you initally or subsequentley, consider the following:

    1. Could my packaging requirements be provided by an existing packaging option? This can save on manufacturing and design costs given that existing packaging has already been tested for durability and strength and can be produced faster given the lead-time required for a custom order. Such existing packaging options can be found in our carton, pouch, and bottle template pages. We offer the following pre-designed custom packaging and branded shipping packages:

Blister Packs & Bottle Cards Bottle Tabber Pack 8 Tab Carton(s) Bottle Neck Bander Pack 13 Tab Carton(s)

    1. If you require a packaging design/packaging assembly outside of the standard blister and bottle card products, consider a custom order. We welcome the opportunity to help you develop and design a packaging option if you are unsure what’s available or what’s proven and reliable in your industry. If you don’t yet have a packaging solution identified, read our post on 4 Tips for Objectively Evaluation Your Potential Branded Shipping Packages. This can help you avoid pitfalls and prevent common mistakes when designing and ordering custom packaging.
    2. Have you considered the timeline associated with a custom order process? We recommend starting with existing kit packaging options that can be ordered for immediate production vs. an aboriginal custom order process, which will require additional time. Custom kit designs generally take four weeks from ordering to production.
    3. When working with existing packaging or adhering to specific standards, consider keeping the existing packaging's coloring and/or design. By adhering to an existing product brand or style, you make it easier for your customers (and handlers) to distinguish the product from others in a similar category.
    4. Do you feel comfortable moving ahead with production based on your own idea or vision? This is a common characteristic of small businesses and entrepreneurs. Even if you aren’t confident identifying a packaging choice specifically, you may have a vision in your head of how you want the packaging to look. If this is the case, tell us what you want and we will help you make it a reality. We have a design team that range in many styles from the sleek and modern to the more classical or edgy.

Question: How long does it take for a custom design to reach completion once the project has begun?

Answer: Every project is different. Typically, we plan for 2-4 weeks in design and also account for any customer sampling and supply requests that come in after a design is depicted.

Question: Do you offer a catalog of your packaging products?

Answer: At the present time MST Packaging co. does not offer a catalog, but they are available upon customer request. All packaging options can be found on the website and the customer can use a Web App to find the packaging they need.

Question: What type of paper do you use in the inserts and kits in your custom packaging?

Answer: The standard paper we use is a smooth 15 point C1S (coated 1 side) stock. We don't use lines or an "eggshell" finish on the paper, unlike some other printing companies, because it takes away from the printed colors and design.

Question: How much does it cost to create a product insert or kit? Can it be done single side or double sided? I'm thinking about doing 2 or 3 separate inserts (1 for product info and missing parts and another for assembly instructions).

Answer: Our standard insert size is up to 8.5" wide x 11" tall. We print with six colors (mixing of CMYK + 2 spot colors) at 1200dpi (dots per inch) resolution. Printing is done on a smooth 70# paper weight 15 point C1S (coated 1 side) stock. Depending on the number of colors needed on an item, the specific size, and how many inserts you will need, the insert production cost may vary.

Question: Do you offer printable files and templates on your website, similar to how Vistaprint offers business card templates and templates for business stationary?

Answer: We do not offer paper printable templates. Because a packaging item is not a standard Item, they are unable to be printed and fulfill the need for packaging materials. However, we are able to provide print files and reviewed proofs to satisfy artwork or quality approvals.
